Past and Current Research

During my undergraduate career, my research has explored Holocaust memory, feminist perspectives of the Holocaust, and the medical and legal histories of Polish women subjected to human experimentation. In other courses, I have pursued research within 20th-century European history, centering on resistance movements in former Soviet Bloc countries like Czechoslovakia.

While at university, I have worked closely with nineteenth-century Tennessee history through Belle Meade Historic Site, a former plantation and thoroughbred stud farm. As a historian, I lead tours of the mansion and the property discussing complex themes of slavery, domestic, and sexual violence. My research here is currently on the lives of those who were enslaved as well as the paid contract laborers who were present during the post-emancipation era.

This past summer of 2026, I lived in Prague while on a study abroad for around a month. There I became very connected to the story of Jan Palach. During the course in Prague, I was able to construct a walking tour for my classmates and professor to discuss Palach’s story.

I am currently continuing research on a group of Polish women who were medically experimented on at Ravensbrück concentration camp from 1942-1944 and their post war lives through the 1950s.
